♥ Lady Gaga's Live Showstudio Interview - I just paid £1.50 for this 2-hour extravaganza on Sunday 30th May (ahead of her O2 gig).. the way I see it (justify it) is that; I'd pay this to read substandard dullsville interviews in ragmags, so why not watch a really excellent video interview instead. Plus, I loved the Alexander McQueen interview last year via Showstudio. Ooo excited. WHATWILLSHEWEAR???

I'm off again. Too many people to keep happy at once today errrgh..
OH, Gossip Girl tonight, though!

Flights of Floaty Fancy

14 May 2010

A little under the weather today, so I'm cheering myself up by scouring sites full of beautiful elegant clothing - as y'do.
For the past year or so I've become enamored by delicate, sheer chiffons and silks; lingerie detailing and light-as-a-feather slip dress styles. This is probably apparent by my habit of posting updates based around lingerie.. ha.
Like any fashion-loving girl, I dream of one day being fitted for that perfect dress - hand-crafted and moulded around your body, as if in your own personally-tailored cocoon of fabulousness.... mmm! This was definitely instilled in me by seeing Jane's - Sea of Shoes' - pictures of her Chanel Haute Couture dress fitting for her Parisian debutante ball. Dreamlike indeed.
..Cue Polyvore set!

love letters

13 May 2010

What am I loving, hearting, embracing - etc etc! - this week, you might well ask?

Slightly, massively mirroring Ms Darling today as I fancied reassuring myself in the same manner that this week has been atleast somewhat productive and loverrly!

Iced Caffe Lattes - my favourite midweek pick-me-up!
Sex and the City 2 anticipation. NO JOKE, every time the trailer appears on the telly I get butterflies in the pit of my stomach. Hello 2010 converting me because of watching series 1 & 2 so far. When it was still on TV, I only ever watched one of the final episodes where Samantha has cancer. I was far too young! I sneaked a glance when my parents weren't home (around the time I used to also experiment with their drinks cabinet when home alone..!)
Blossoming trees & vividly coloured fields The fields are all sunshine yellow & green, and the blossomy trees are all candyfloss pink and white. If the weather's not always holding out, atleast the yummy colours are a reminder that summer's on its way!
Swim-gear I bought a real, actual, PROPER swimsuit yesterday. I haven't had to do that for many a year, but I've got to have one for the spa shenanigans next month so I'm holding my breath (and sucking in tightly) in the hope I don't look too ridiculous. As always with me, I made sure I retained my fashion integrity by getting it from ASOS. Vanity y'say..? Nay..
iTunes hunting Believe it or not, I was once a bonafide musical geek. Weird fact: I started reading the NME when I was 10 - even before my fellow lasses were reading Mizz. Of course, this may sound all awesome and smug but it actually developed a brief love affair with Coldplay.. damnit, you wouldn't believe I had all those musical genes in me! So, many years - and phases.. dear God I've had 'em all - later, and I've retreated back into the musical abyss; a land of vague CSS (who?) references and the desperate clinging to forgotten indie bands of the noughties. GIVE ME CREDIBILITY, ITUNES! But no Ellie Goulding & co. Thanks.
.. on that note, Sheffield's Slow Club are rocking my boat right now. They supported Florence last week - stepping in for The Drums. The girl drummer, Rebecca, is the girl a lot of us would wanna be.. not least for her self-depricating humour. E.g. "I fell asleep on the train up here - face down on a table. I woke up and looked like I had two mangled faces, like that dude in Star Wars. Not a good sight for the men around me.."
Planning for the Future That was not a premature forethought for pensions and SAGA holidays, no no.. September is on its way and I've got masses to arrange. Stressed and exhausted. I'm feverishly composing emails in search of the perfect placement, and a few little risky endeavours.. I'll keep y'posted. It's all VERY 'CITIN' though ;)
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes on DVD. Aceaceace.
Thorntons Caramel Shortcake aaaah, these are falling victim to my hungry eyes right now. Have mercy on my bikini bod (.. DON'T LAUGH!!!!!).
Gossip Girl well.. as always. DANANDSERENAFOREVA+EVA. ("IDST" - school flashbacks. woah.)

Ch-ch-cheeeeerio xoxo

Lovely Linkage

9 May 2010

First off, this week has been full of POLITICAL DRAMAZZZ. It's angered me too much so I've just decided to avoid it for my own sanity, haha. If I start on my views on this I'll never stop!
Let's all just hope the country sorts itself out for the good of us all, and pronto..

Here comes the linktrainnnnnnnnnnnn..

Laetitia Casta as Brigitte Bardot. She looks so stunningly similar, woah
"Who has David Cameron been talking to?" This is a satisfyingly good gadget/stab at his *anecdotes*.
♥ I loveee Roberta Furlanetto. Think I found this via Style Bubble
"Oh My Gaga!" is now an expression in Chinese youth culture. Proof Ms Gaga rules the earth right now..!
Paris has a sewing cafe.. Cue envy.
♥ I love Kris Atomic's daily routine photos on Design for Mankind. Her moggy is so cute.
♥ Erin Fetherston shows us how to DIY a headband. She is one of my favouriite and best dressed designers so this is a treat I will no doubt be carrying out.
♥ I love this post on 'Jumpology' by Philippe Halsman. Makes you SO happy :) Not least because Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn are featured jumping for joy..
♥ I know everyone has blogged about the Miu Miu wonder shoes, practically yeears ago, but I didn't at the time. So, here's an old post from The Cherry Blossom Girl I forgot to put on the blog. Cute.

♥ This completely amazed me..

♥ did this! How awesome does BeyoncĂ© look in her new video? I'm not sure about the song but the styling sure makes up for it! Likin' her new 50s direction..

'At'll do nicely xoxo

and i owe it all to you

2 May 2010

Really did leave it a while until I wrote this post.. this week has probably been the best week so far of 2010! Two lovely things happened to me almost out of the blue (well, in one case atleast). It was also a bit of a boy-filled week. Insane.

♥ I got into my course so I'm officially studying Event Management as of September. Noice. Atleast three ridiculously good looking (TALL?) boys on it with me.
♥ I met someone aswell but I'm not gonna extend on that as it's just a lovely little skip-in-your-step for now. He has the most infectious smile I've ever seen; I'll tell you that much. Couldn't stop smiling. Maybe the drink helped a little..
♥ Infact, I also got the biggest ego boost in the way that I managed to hold a flirty stare-out with a stunning rah student type (lol) in the city. Not my type in the slightest but, dear God, nice to look at. Honestly, though, my first reaction was, "LOOK AT THAT IMPECCABLY DRESSED GUY". I love a man in a well cut blazer.. maybe that was his thoughts on seeing my Silence & Noise blazer too.. HMM. GAYDAR, anyone? hahaha.
♥ Slightly concerned about someone I used to be close to but I'll have to swallow my pride until the end of the summer..
♥ I drank ridiculous amounts of vodka this week and realised I can hold my drink like a lady :| oh mother, you've given me the gift after all..
♥ And I gots me a lovely fringe last week :) I love my hairdresser. We have the most ridiculous banter ever, and she can cut my hair properly for once! She knows I hate it anything other than messy, wavy and texturised..

various cute stuff. this is what my bag looks like in real life.
So, I took a few photos this weekend (and some the week before..) Here we go..

got this notebook a couple of weeks ago. it's lovely and it has this inside..
..a map of Paris so I won't get too lost when I'm next there! As well as being able to write about the little things I encounter.
the poppies are all out and standing to attention like red and yellow soldiers.. aww. this was taken through my sunglasses. everything seems better through rose-tinted glasses, duh..
..and upside down! haha, can you tell I was experimenting with new perceptions on things? I heard something about children being so full of wonder and everything being NEW to them all the time. I miss that, and I think everyone should try and see the world through fresh eyes once in a while, or everything becomes so stale and stagnant.
cupcake book!!! this was a present to myself for getting into my course. can't wait to try some of the recipes. they're all americanised though (the bakery is a New Yoooork classic) so i'll have to try a bit harder. mmm.. devil's cake, classic magnolia bakery vanilla cupcakes.. blueberry pie. yum.
speaking of cake ! yeah, it tasted good if you're wondering. this was given to my parents for their anniversary. i had no clue about it. but i definitely played a part in the demolision of it!

This isn't quite everything but I'll do a separate post for all the links I've accumulated..!
