Now, Hydraluron - even the name strikes interest into avid skincare fans. Especially if you're a follower of Caroline Hirons, who LOVES this stuff. And given that she's well-respected in the beauty blogosphere, I was very excited to try it out. If you've not heard of this yet, I suggest you give her initial post a read for the nitty-gritty science!
So, here we go!
"Hydraluron is a hydration serum inspired by injectable hydration treatments employed in Swiss clinics. These hydration treatments employ a fine needle that is used to administer hundreds of micro-injections of hyaluronic acid into the skin. Hydraluron is a less invasive, more affordable treatment that can be incorporated into any daily regime. The mechanism action of Hydraluron is two-fold. Firstly, Hydraluron uses the worlds purest grade of hyaluronic acid from the Netherlands as its hydration active. Hyaluronic acid is a superb hydration ingredient that can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. It is found in abundance in young skin."
So.. essentially, we're talking high-tech stuff here! I was a bit apprehensive about spending my ££ on this product but, given the exceptional reviews, I guessed it would be a worthy investment..
On first look, I absolutely love the bright pink packaging. Ironically, Indeed Labs - the creators of Hydraluron, and many other saviour products - are renowned for their lack of promotional chit-chat, letting the products (and high quality ingredients) speak for themselves.
When you first use the product and squeeze out a small amount on to clean skin (morning & night, ideally), you notice that your skin just SOAKS up the goodness! The product is designed to be used pre-moisturiser, which then allows your moisturiser to work even more efficiently when used afterwards.
The box suggests that the product takes around 8 weeks to see best results, and I have noticed (8 weeks after starting use) that my skin feels more supple, smoother and my pores have reduced slightly. Most noticeably, my skin feels less dehydrated in areas such as my forehead & nose. I can't say for sure that the product will have the same effect as this on everyone's skin, but it also smoothed out those annoying under-the-skin bumps!
Would I Repurchase it?
Absolutely, yes! Despite the £24.99 price tag (which, I guess, is mildly cheaper than Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair, as another luxury serum I love!), it does its job x100. You get what you pay for with this, and if you want your skin to feel more youthful and hydrated, this is The One!
Hydraluron Moisture Booster is available at Boots, currently retailing at £24.99.
