#StayFlawless by Benefit: Edinburgh Blogger Launch Event

14 June 2013

Hey ladies (and gents, of course! Keepin' it covered here at The Likely Lady)

Sorry for the silence my end for the past week.. I've been getting stuck in to my new-found role in beauty & spa marketing.. hence the fact I wasn't up for coming home and chatting about beauty on the internet some more!

So.. a week ago I went to the Blogger launch event in Edinburgh for Benefit's new Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer (which is ouuuut.... NOW!). It was a fantastic evening of beauty goss, eating, drinking, giggles and the general camaraderie that you start to expect at Blogger get-togethers! And, of course, the products speak for themselves when it comes to Benefit...

"PLEASE can I take these home..?"
Urrgh, blurry but you get the point!

Once we all got settled in & had gotten acquainted with the Benefit ladies over a glass of prosecco each (ooh, fancy!), it was time to start the beauty chit-chat!

Lisa, the Benefit Head Make-up Artist, was on hand to guide us through the process of applying Stay Flawless as a base primer under your regular foundation (or whatever type of make-up you normally wear during the day). The reason for creating the product..? They looked at The Porefessional (a favourite amongst everyone, including me), and asked "what doesn't this have?" - 15 hour staying power! So this is the resulting selling point of this particular Benefit primer.

They used the guide of an actual magnet (representing the primer). 1: Start with the face, 2: Sweep the primer over in circular motions across the areas of the face to prime & 3. Apply your usual foundation.. and ta-da! Perfect-o make-up which stays in place all day.

After a long day at work, I can happily say my make-up (usually Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser & Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer) is marginally still in place. I'm pretty happy with the results, given that working in a beauty environment kinda encourages you to "stay flawless" all day! Or you might get nagged by the beauty therapists..!

Food glorious food..!

However, I would guess that this primer is not useful for any oilier-skinned ladies, as it has a sticky residue feeling which I could see would make your skin condition a little trickier over time. Fortunately, my skin is pretty normalised nowadays...

Here's my prize from during the impromptu quiz session on Benefit facts.. (I guessed the #StayFlawless hashtag haha..)

A kit of some of their best-selling products in mini form, yay!

And my goodie bag gifts & prize all together..!

I'd like to say by the way, thanks so much to the Benefit HQ & Area Management team (Jo, Claire, Lisa et al!) for an absolutely lovely evening. I couldn't have asked for a better set of hostesses! Very bubbly ladies, and I guess that reflects in their brand image which is the cutest! And thanks to Hemma Bar for their fab canapes ;) nom. Can't wait for the next event with them coming up this year.. :)

PS - Me, Gillian & Lynne definitely went for a few cheeky cocktails post-event..!

Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer is available at Benefit as well as all good Department Stores nation-wide as of this week! Phew..

Look out for my individual product reviews, coming soon..
