Origins GinZing Moisturizer: The Review

31 July 2013

When it comes to keeping my face in top-tip condition along with actually staying awake (a tough one when you work full-time, as I'm sure we can all agree), I'm always on the look out for an energy-boosting product which can hydrate and sustain me all throughout the morning.

In short - the Origins GinZing moisturizer is IT..

Let me tell you why..

The Promise

Launched as a lower priced alternative to their other facial skincare products and a follow-up to the legendary GinZing Eye Cream; Origins GinZing Moisturizer is available in all good Boots stores - which is where I caved in and picked it up one fateful day..

They promise that it:
Instantly hydrates and revs up radiance. Lackluster-looking skin is rapidly refreshed and revitalised to create a healthy, vibrant glow. This lightweight, oil-free, skin energy drink, fortified with legendary skin-boosters like Panax Ginseng and Coffee Bean, jumpstarts hydration levels.
I was hooked. Particularly when Vivianna Does Makeup went wild for it, as a prior fan of the GinZing eye cream.

The Reality

When I opened up the Origins packaging, I was treated to a bright orange tub of goodness. I love how summery it feels, and it gets me excited to use it in the mornings.

On opening the lid, even the scent instantly gives you a welcome boost. Smells like a bowl full of oranges sitting in the sun! Mmm.

I love massaging this into my skin after applying my usual Hydraluron serum. Because of it being oil-free, my skin feels completely nourished without any of the unwelcome oily residue left over by some face moisturisers. The Panax Ginseng and Coffee Bean really do get to work on perking up your face and giving you a jolt of energy on those difficult mornings..!

Origins GinZing Moisturizer - All the goodness packed inside!

Origins GinZing Moisturizer - A lovely creamy consistency without any oil!

Would I Repurchase It?

Absolutely! This is well worth the £23 and I really can see me getting a lot use out of it. It's just like digging into a tub full of heaven. I quite like it for summer in particular, which is the opposite of my Night-A-Mins which I think is very heavy & better suited to the winter months. I'm sure even in winter, though, a nice wee kick from this caffeine-containing orange-scented wonder cream will do me the world of good!

Origins GinZing Moisturizer is available in Boots and via Origins now for £23.
Psst.. Origins have free delivery on offer right now! (28/7/13)

What do you think of Origins GinZing Moisturizer? Is it right up your street? Why not go into your local Origins counter and get a good ol' whiff of it?

  1. I just got this in the post today and I am genuinely excited to get up tomorrow and use it haha - what a loser! It smells so goooood, hopefully it'll do good things for my skin too. x

    1. Yeah it's a lovely wee product! Can't get enough of the scent ahah x

  2. I'm such a cheapskate the thought of spending £23 on moisturiser hurts! I'll stick to Simple til I win that bloody lottery... my face tends to have a reaction to most moisturisers I try, and is almost always left way too shiny/greasy, I've since used the same moisturiser for as long as i can remember! This sounds lovely though, citrusy smells are the best xx

  3. Hi Laura, I was just googling Origins Night a Mins reviews and yours popped up from Jan this year, have just started using it tonight so I hope it's as good as your review sounds! I also have this in my stash and will start using it once I have used up the Elemental Herbology one I have been using. Really like your blog, am following now xx
