Here's my 1st ever (properly official an' all that) Beauty Haul post! I do indeed purchase quite a lot of make-up, hair & skin-care products, so I think they deserve a wee post of their own, rather than the odd exclamation over on Twitter! I'm all about the glow this month; achieving the perfect illuminating base is my ultimate goal. I'm also looking to freshen up my (previously pink) locks with some ashy blonde through it next week, so some violet pigment shampoo was definitely on my shopping list to keep it looking tip-top..
I'll break this up into two parts. Part 1 will be my Boots goodies! Followed by the cheeky Space NK binge I went on.. ahem..!
Bourjois Java Rice Loose Powder
The Bourjois Java Rice Loose Powder is a bit of a blogger obsession right now. Seems to be doing the rounds around the ol' Bloglovin' feed. I don't always follow these fads but I fancied trying out this little beauty.. mostly because of the pretty packaging, I'll be honest! But its sheeny illuminating properties are right up there on my want list, so it really sold itself to me.
At £9.99 for this little pot, I was a bit iffy about whether it'd be worth it. If you know me at all, you'll know I do not like shimmer on my skin. In my opinion, the eyes are the only place on my face for any glitter! But its pale pink pearlescent shimmer seemed delicate enough to lightly dust along my upper cheekbones; just enough so it catches the light. And guess what..? I didn't hate it one little bit. I recommend this for day use as it's subtle enough. I've not tried it at night yet but so far so good!
Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer
Another shock purchase from me! I also don't like primers. I've probably just been unlucky, but primers tend to block up my pores and end up in angry red blemishes come the next morning.. I noticed this one mentioned a few times across beauty articles and decided to give it a bash again. Once rubbed in, the primer disappears into skin (don't worry about the colour pigment above; it's transparent!) I also wanted something mainly for night-time use, as my heavier make-up tends to fall by the wayside and cause a lotta flash-back.. PhotoReady is the product line for the job, it seems, with its lack of SPF! SPF is the devil when it comes to the dreaded ghostly face, so I'm making a careful effort to minimise the damage.. wish me luck on my primer journey..!
Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher in 'Rose Coup de Foudre'
Okay, so I'm rather limited when it comes to blushers. I just don't seem to prioritise them enough or put enough value on what they can achieve with your skin; unlocking the radiance and healthy flush we all need to stop us looking like a zombie (well.. maybe this is your intention on Halloween week!?)
I was aiming to get the Revlon PhotoReady blush in 'Coral Reef', but it seems everyone in Edinburgh has read Gemsmaquillage's post on it as it was the shade completely sold out! Sigh.. so I gave Bourjois a shot. Now, I know most people look to its newer shinier sister, the Cream Blush, but I don't think I've ever tried a powder blush (God, so many firsts in this post!) so I chose this. I loooove it! It's so pretty in its little pot of wonder, with the gold shimmer and coral pink pop of colour. It really adds lots of radiance to my cheeks and is a great fit with my winter make-up. Want that just-been-for-a-winter-walk look? This is your pal. Oh, and did I mention it's SO PRETTY!?
Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Shine Shampoo Weekly Treatment
This one is a given. I asked everyone on Twitter: "what are your favourite purple shampoos for eliminating brassiness in dyed blonde hair?" These were my responses..
An overwhelming majority then!
So it got purchased. Stay tuned to see how it goes after I get my hair coloured next week..
Impulse Body Spray in 'Very Pink'
I fancied picking up a wee body spray for my handbag and happened upon this little beauty in its teeny size bottle. I didn't think much of it (if anything, "ah man, school days in the PE changing rooms being submerged in Impulse"), but it turns out I really like this particular scent! I think the bottles have been re-designed in white, so I'm not sure what to link to.. This one has base notes of Rose & Grapefruit, which work together beautifully! Perfect for a quick spritz before you head out the door, and to freshen up on the go. I approve!

What have you been picking up in Boots recently? Keep your eyes peeled for my Space NK haul post.. *gulp*
