Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair | Vintage Nation
Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair presents.. Vintage Nation!

The weekend before last, me and my merry band of fellow bloggers (we sound like something out of Robin Hood - obviously fitting?!) - Gillian, Terri, Kirsty, Iona, Fiona and friends - gathered at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange once more for another event: the Vintage Nation event held by the same team who bring you Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair up and down the UK!

It was an event full of cake-eating, tea-sipping, hair-glamourising and Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer (naturally)..

Rummaging; me in the hot-seat for my hair styling sesh; Iona and co rummaging 'til their hearts' content

Not gonna lie, I've had Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair pencilled in my diary for the past 3 years.. *cringe*. I just never seem to find the time or inclination to head down to the Picture House in Edinburgh for a wee rummage. But now I have a wee team of fellow vintage-lovers, it's pretty hard to resist the lure of the second-hand gem!

After I had an hour or two of vintage-rummaging & picking up a couple of dresses and a bird-cage necklace (obvs), we waited 45 mins in a queue for afternoon tea by The Travelling Tearoom (who don't seem to have a website, sorry!). Suffice to say half the cakes had been scoffed by the time we got to them.. however, me and Iona made the most by ordering an Afternoon Tea for 2 (whilst the other girls more modestly nibbled wee cakes.. haha!). We watched Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer whilst we ate. I love him to bits after spotting him on BBC3 a year or two ago on the Edinburgh Fringe highlights.

After I was all full, it was time to head over to Miss Dixiebelle's hair & beauty area for a perfectly preened vintage 'do.

Here I am in the below pic rocking my temporary new look, along with the photo of my new necklace (!!)

A slick of cat eyeliner and a bit of lippie sealed the deal on my new vintage look! We got a bargain at £15 on the day for a hair styling sesh (usually £44, bookable here. Great for a special occasion such as a wedding, hen do or birthday! They also do make-up and photoshoots ;)

Have you been to Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair events? They're coming back to Edinburgh on Sunday the 8th December for a 'Very Vintage Christmas'! I promise to make the effort.. ;)

xoxo

  1. Your hair looks fab - you really suit a vintage do! Was so sad to miss this one (stupid tummy bug!) but will definitely be at the Christmas one. I have never been to one either *holding head in shame* but they always sound a lot of fun. You and Iona definately had the right idea with the afternoon tea! Yum! xx

  2. Oh, but look at your lovely wee face! I had such a lovely time and we should definitely go along to the xmas one too. I kind of avoided the clothes stalls which I regret now... wish I'd picked up a couple more bits and pieces. NEXT TIME! You should have a go at recreating that hair style, too, really suits you xx
