The Hope, Glasgow
I was invited, along with a bunch of fellow blogger girlie pals, by Toni at DaDa to the launch of The Hope on Waterloo Street in Glasgow. It's undergone a whopping £500,000 makeover, so it's one not to miss.. Any excuse for a wee food & drink-related gathering with my favourite ladies, eh..?
The Restaurant Area in The Hope
The Hope is run by the same people who brought you The West Port in a previous post - Maclay Inns. Once more, with the same creative & modern design skillz, Maclays have re-launched this bar with fantastic attention to detail.
The design really is the first thing that strikes you about The Hope. I even like the typography on their signage and marketing materials (geek). The interiors are filled with the same sort of mis-matched yet entirely complementary fabrics as The West Port, but with more of an inner-city slick feel. They wanna be the place Glaswegians head to catch up with pals or catch up on work on the go with a wee refreshment (free WiFi n' all that..) Besides all that, their strongest asset is how close they are to Glasgow Central. Literally across the road! I've gotta say, that would make me very likely to head there if I had some time to kill.. Mostly cause I'm lazy *cough*

So, on with THE FOOD!
#scottishbloggersloveprosecco - our infamous hashtag going strong!
Beautiful colourful italian meats platter ♥
After a wee cheeky glass of prosecco (or two), we were treated to some beautiful boards of italian meats. I was particularly fond of the wee sundried tomato & mozzarella sticks. Cute food is my weakness.. I wish I was Japanese and had bento boxes with panda faces made out of rice for lunch ;( ANYWAY..
Teehee, I like this photo because it shows us all in *blogger mode* with raised cameras. Standard blogger shindig!
Potato Skins in cute wee buckets!
Mini Flame Grilled Beef Burgers ♥
We were then served up with some mini beef burgers, mahoosive onion rings & buckets and buckets of potato skins.. blogger feast! They were beaut and really helped, er, soak up all that excess alcohol we were being served (think G&Ts, boutique(?!) beer brands, wine & prosecco..) Although, I was a goodie two-shoes and stuck to 2 or 3 proseccos - unlike my fellow comrades.. tut tut!
Desserts at The Hope, Glasgow
Now, come on.. you know me, I like a cheeky dessert for afters. And The Hope's weren't exactly short of awesomeness. See that ice cream up there? You might assume it to be the innocent, bland vanilla of ice creams. NOPE. White chocolate ice cream! We all kinda went mad for that one.. served up with fresh strawberries & cream. I didn't manage to photograph my absolute favourite dessert plate because I was so overly excited by it. A moist gooey chocolate fudge cake *dribble*, profiteroles and ice cream. Get in my belly!

All in all, a fab evening. The place is a helluva lot more buzzing than The West Port, so they really both cater for different moods and groups. I'd recommend this place for pre-drinks or dinner before heading out in Glasgow, or for lunch before your train. Perfect-o!
..need an extra push to head along? They're offering two courses for £8.95 12-7pm Mon-Fri. Winner winner chicken dinner!
