16 December 2014

Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette
On my birthday last month, I was lucky enough to receive the Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette from my lovely parents.. such a beauty it is! I'd had it on my wishlist for a while, since hearing of its limited edition release, and knew I had to get my paws on it. So here's my long-awaited (hi Roisin!) review..

Just Burgers & Beers, Edinburgh: The Review

10 December 2014

Hey everyone!

Today I'm writing about my trip to Just Burgers & Beers; a burger joint I'd been meaning to visit since it opened earlier this year. As a certified member of my pals & I's #burgerlovinbabes crew, I was sure to love this. And it didn't disappoint..

The Christmas Gift Guide: John Lewis

8 December 2014

John Lewis Christmas Gift Guide
Today is the first in my line-up of Christmas Gift Guides for you guys. Today, I'm focusing on John Lewis' offerings, with its little luxuries to treat friends & family (of the female kind!) to this festive season. I attended the Christmas press launch of John Lewis a couple of months ago, and am amazed at the array of pretty things I've started to fill my own wishlist with! Hope you enjoy my guides. Let me know if you pick anything up!

Behind The Work Space: Stationary Wishlist

28 November 2014

Behind The Work Space: Stationary Wishlist
Today's post is a follow-up from the really popular post I wrote on desk inspiration (here) back in August. I'm still making my desk feel a little prettier myself, now that I'm in the working world working in digital content post-University. Oh, and it's taken me so long to actually post this follow-up, but here I am! Forgive me, but it is a really great selection so hopefully that makes the delay worth it! It's all been sourced via Etsy and Pinterest, and I'm sure it'll give you some inspiration for your own desks, whether you're a student, an office worker or a freelancer.. or, y'know, even just a really stylish mum!

WIWT: Birthday Dress, Sparkles & Berry Lips

25 November 2014

Hey guys!

Today is my 23rd birthday, and - as always - I had a wee jaunt into town with some friends to celebrate this past weekend. We headed to Cafe Andaluz on George Street, Edinburgh first to demolish so many tapas dishes (FYI, chorizo in red wine, calamari & duck in red wine were my picks.. do I sense a red wine theme here? Whoops). We also shared some Sangria and sipped on French Martinis.. Essentially, a lovely start to the night. Afterwards, we popped over to my favourite pub, The Blackbird, to carry on drinking into the evening until the lights came up. I definitely indulged in a cheeky Zombie cocktail (all kinds of rum, heeello) and merrily skipped on home with a big ol' grin on my face. A pretty adult affair, but one I am happy I did. These days, I really do much prefer being in the pub with my friends crying with laughter than struggling to hear them in a club (In the words of Blink 182.. what's my age again?!). SO. Here's what I wore for the occasion.. and what I'm likely to wear again tonight for my actual birthday's meal out with my parents.

Tempus Bar: Autumn/Winter Menu Launch

18 November 2014

Tempus Bar Edinburgh Autumn/Winter Menu Launch
Hey guys!

A few weeks ago, I was invited back to Tempus Bar to sample their new autumn/winter menu. Having really enjoyed last year's summer menu launch (post here) and this January's Burns Night burger event (here), it only took me a split second to say yes to this invite when it appeared in my inbox! So here's what's on the menu for this season at The George Hotel's Tempus Bar.. Get ready to salivate, I'm warning you now.

WIWT: Winter Florals, Roebuck Skulls & Idaho Boots

16 November 2014

Recently, I attended a Duo Boots blogger event on Castle Street, Edinburgh. I'd never heard of the brand before an invite popped into my inbox, so it was exciting to go and try them out and decide on the right winter boots for me! My old boots needed replacing, so this was perfect timing. I decided to pair my chosen boots - the Idaho Ankle Boots* - with my new New Look blouse and my Runaway Fox necklace, along with the standard Topshop Joni Jeans and a slick of Kate Moss #107 berry lipstick (naturally!). Let's take a look at the outfit deets and a few snaps from the event..

The Quest for a Trademark Scent: YSL Parisienne

5 November 2014

I've written previously about my love affair with Miss Dior Cherie coming to an end, but I was yet to decide on a new perfume to take its place.. There's been brief toying with Jo Malone's Peony & Blush Suede, as well as dabbling in lots of long-forgotten perfume samples I'd thrown into the nearest skin-care stash drawer with the intention of taking on my next holiday. I've even envied Gillian's Viktor & Rolf Bon Bon (and still do!) But the trademark scent vacancy remained open...'til now. Here's a little review of my new favourite perfume: YSL Parisienne.

Halloween Snapshots

2 November 2014

As it's not strictly Halloween anymore (sob), I thought I'd share some shots of our Halloween celebrations over the weekend and let the pictures do the talking.. See my Instagram for all the costume details too! Clue: Party time! Excellent!

Also, my 'Halloween Trick or Treats' board on Pinterest was featured over the season on their newsletter! So exciting. Check it out for the recipes of what we made this year and other ideas you might wanna use next year.. hey, it's never too early to plan for the greatest seasonal celebration ever, right..? ;)

The Blogger Tag

28 October 2014

Image via Pinterest

A few of my pals - from Kirsty to Roisin (click to see their answers) - have been doing 'The Blogger Tag' recently, so I thought why not? I haven't actually been tagged cause they're the worst (kidding, love you guys), but this tag basically reminds me of ye olde MySpace or Livejournal surveys, so I am a keen bean for re-living my 13 year old self's favourite thing. Anyway, on we go with my input! I'll tag some of you at the bottom of this post to complete it too.. and, you better! I'll be waiting! ;)

Winter Skincare Wonder Products

21 October 2014

My Top 4 Winter Skincare Hydrating Products
So! I've covered some of the exciting parts of winter, what with cosying up in your best jammies; investing in a winter coat & playing about with the new beauty looks, but what about your winter parched skin? I thought I'd give you a little run-down of the skincare products that are rocking my world right now for their amazingly hydrating properties - and their glow-giving abilities!

My Dream Sunday with OnePiece (& a Special Offer!)

19 October 2014

My Dream Sunday with OnePiece

One of my favourite times of the week is that blissful feeling when you're waking up on a Sunday morning knowing you have a day ahead of you filled with whatever you want - and, let's be honest, 9 times out of 10 it's going to involve your onesie and catching up on American Horror Story. So, when I was contacted by OnePiece who've launched their AW14 range and wanted to send me some items, I was sold. It was time to give my Sunday morning lazy routine a well deserved shake-up!

My Top 3: AW14 Beauty Looks

16 October 2014

My Top 3 AW14 Beauty Looks
As I was spouting on about in my earlier post when I told you what I've picked up to wear this AW14, it's officially autumn!! Hip hip hooraaaay.. the time where my dark berry lip doesn't look out of place and I can swipe lots of gold glitter on my lids... yep! I'm officially in beauty heaven, if you hadn't guessed already. I've actually stocked up on lots of new L'Oreal Color Riche beauty bits, so expect a lot of that in these mini tutorials as I fancied giving them a go the day I bought them.. definitely wasn't sponsored though!

So, I've compiled a post filled with my top 3 most wearable AW14 beauty looks, which can fit around every eventuality in life (I hope). Let's crack on..

A Wishlist: Made From Scotland

Made From Scotland wishlist
Clockwise from top left: Customisable Embroidered Fabric Mr Stag - £70 | Scalloped Necklace in 'Blush' - £36 | Bone China Blue Birdies Mug - £10.95 | Gold Diamond Star Necklace - £60 | Stag Tea Towel - £9.95 | Spot Merino Blanket in 'Grey & Multicolour' - £77 | Edinburgh Houses Mug in 'Pink' - £10 | Scotland The Brave Mug - £11.50 | Victorian Lemonade Tea Towel in 'Coral' - £9.50
Hey guys :)

As my flatmate and all-round top pal Gillian works at Made From Scotland, I felt I should probably tell you guys reading my blog about how much I love their beaut homewares, accessories, art & jewellery, instead of just gushing to her all the time about it. All of the items on the website and in-store - in the pop-up store on Rose Street, Edinburgh - are Scottish in origin or theme and are aimed at showcasing the creativity of Scottish produce, without all the cheesy tackiness associated with those tourist shops on the Royal Mile.. (you know the ones.)

WIWT: Autumn Tartan, Biker Coats & Dream Mulberry Bags

12 October 2014

Autumn tartan and biker coat New Look
Haha, such a weirdo.
Hey you lovely lot!

I've been taking lots & lots of pictures for upcoming posts this past weekend, so I feel so much more prepared and happy for what's in store on the blog this week. I've been spending the past month settling into my job writing amazing cultural content all day & brainstorming for social media ideas, and now I'm ready to focus on my own wee digital hobby! Look out for my pick of the AW14 beauty looks, new makeup releases and how I'm keeping my skin nourished as the harsh winter weather approaches Edinburgh. First up, here's what I'm keeping myself cosy in now that the cold is firmly here to stay!

15 Little Things That Have Made Me Smile

2 October 2014

Recently, I've realised that I've become probably the happiest I've ever been. It's been a gradual process, what with finishing Uni and gaining my dream 2:1; moving in with one of my pals, Gillian, who has been a welcome breath of fresh air & always makes coming home a fun part of the day; and getting a dream job. I've had a few ups and downs as I've tackled making things work, and I'm still trying to make sure this dream job lasts.. but, on the whole, I'm feeling the very best version of myself these days!

So, here's a little list of those things that have made me smile recently. Why not comment with your own list?

Debenhams AW14: Christmas Beauty Treats

30 September 2014

First off, sorry for the lack of posts on The Likely Lady this month. I've just started a new job where I'm writing digital content every day, so it's a tough thing to come home and write more! However, I've worked out a system so I'll get more done. I hope you can forgive me, haha!

Anyway! This month, I popped over to Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow once more for the Debenhams AW14 Press Show. It was a night filled with fizz, beauty treats & new season fashion.. So here's what I spotted amongst the beauty goodies (my favourite part every season, I'll be honest!)

#TasteofEdinburgh The Scotsman Spa, Edinburgh: The Review

12 September 2014

Photo courtesy of The Scotsman Spa

As part of The Scotsman Hotel's new campaign #TasteofEdinburgh, I was invited to review their Aveda Spa inside the hotel as part of their 'Indulgent Experiences' week (8th-14th September). As it's pretty much a tradition for me & my mum to do spa days every once in a while (she's my spa day partner in crime!), I invited my mum along to give her a little pampering.

Psst - scroll down for a competition!

Neil Barton Hairdressing, Edinburgh

29 August 2014

Neil Barton Hairdressing, Edinburgh
Haha, I promise I'm not grumpy! Looking normal whilst taking photos in public is not my forté..
As part of the run-up to the British Hairdressing Awards, I was invited by AJC PR to review Neil Barton Hairdressing in Edinburgh and get a cut & blow-dry* from the finalist for Scottish Hairdresser of the Year Neil himself. It's not every day you get your hair seen to by a celebrity hairdresser.. so who was I to say no? Here's my review of the experience..

Leighton Denny Colour & Go Nail Paint Duos: The Review

27 August 2014

Hi guys!

I was kindly invited* to try out a few of the new Leighton Denny Expert Nails Colour & Go Nail Paint Duo manicure pens. I picked out the shades Monochrome (ft. Maneater & Surf); Embellish Rose (ft. Embellish Me & Diamond Rose); and Fashionista (ft. She's in Fashion & Cascade). Having met and interviewed Leighton before when I worked in marketing for a beauty company, it was interesting to try out some new products from his Expert Nails collection. So, here's my wee review of the pens..

Godiva Boutique, Edinburgh: Blogger Party

Godiva Boutique Edinburgh
Hi all!

The other week I was invited to Godiva Boutique's first ever blogger party, where we were promised to check out the finest independent brands on offer at the boutique, some creative crafty projects to get our teeth into, local food retailers (Hula Juice Bar, Lovecrumbs and Mary's Milk Bar) offering up the nibbles, demonstrations from Runaway Fox and little competitions and goodies throughout.

So.. how could I possibly say no?!

Here's what I got up to with my fellow blogging chums on the evening..

So kitsch & quirky and perfect for snuggling up in on a crisp autumn afternoon, as well as on a late summer evening in the beer garden..

Behind The Work Space: Desk Inspiration

21 August 2014

Hey you loveeeely lot.

I decided, seeing as I spend the majority of my time pinning to my Work Hard (Play Hard) pin board on Pinterest, I maaaay as well turn it into a well-deserved blog post. So, here you have it. A whole blog post dedicated to the biggest #1 love of my life: desk inspiration. I'm actually going to split into two posts, with the second focusing on a stationary wish list of dreams.

I couldn't be more excited right now. I'm practically hyperventilating, so let's get crackin' and hop right in with my favourite desk inspiration photos..

WIWT: Tropical Florals, Bunting & Pink Lips

27 July 2014

I'm here with a WIWT outfit post :) It's been a whiiiiile, and this first one in ages has been photographed by my new flatmate Gillian. So, er, if you're a regular Elevatormusik reader, you may just recognise the backdrop. However, we've cobbled together some of my own props to make it look a bit different, ha! This past weekend, I've been out and about in Edinburgh, soaking up the sunshine with ice cream from Mary's Milk Bar and a wander around the Grassmarket; an Indoor Picnic hosted by Google at the Signet Library and a Gin Masterclass at 56 North. We also cooked up a storm last night and made Chicken & Mango Salad with Raita (from the Three Sisters Bake book), Sweet Potato Maple Syrup Wedges & Watermelon Vodka Slushy cocktails (picture here). It's been quite the weekend.. now just kicking back with a pear Kopparberg whilst me & Gillian write up our blog posts. Is it just me or is it SUPER HOT?! Dying..

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream: The Review

22 July 2014

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in Ivory

Hey guyyyys!

I'm back with a beauty product review. Makes a change, eh? Today I'm talking about my new favourite daily base - the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in Ivory. It's a much lighter choice for the summer months (when my face is practically melting most days..). Anyway, here we go!

Millenium Hotels/Dreghorn Photography Workshop

19 July 2014

Hahaha, notice: me in the neon pink coat.. blinding! Group photo by Millenium Hotels/Joe Blogs
Hey guys!

After a week of working my first ever graduate role (as a marketing assistant in the public sector, if you're wondering!), I'm making the most of my proper weekend for once. Today, me, Gillian, Lynne & Jade popped into town to take part in Lynsey's Masters dissertation focus group. It was a nice little morning and ended up with me and Gillian cooing over everything in Oliver Bonas afterwards, which is how I usually end the majority of my shopping trips, let's be fair.. I bought a cute little black bardot dress from Miss Selfridge too which I cannot wait to whip out on a night out!

So! On with the post.. last weekend, in amidst moving flats, I was invited to the Millenium Hotel Glasgow's photography workshop run by Stuart Dreghorn. Throughout the day we learned how to get back to the basics of photography and actually get creative with our tech again. It was all organised as part of the #toastofthetown campaign, which celebrates Glasgow as the host of the Commonwealth Games. Let's see how the day went.. and check out some of my questionable "photographs" from the day, ha!

Jo Malone x Redhall Walled Garden

10 July 2014

When invited to an event hosted by Jo Malone in Edinburgh, it would be rude to say no! Fortunately, I was available for mid-afternoon tea & cake to celebrate the opening of the Redhall Walled Garden's Herb Garden - as sponsored by Jo Malone.

Here's what went on on my afternoon jaunt on a summer's day in Edinburgh, in a tranquil garden not far from the centre..

My Week In Ibiza: Holiday Vlog

8 July 2014

Get set to watch my very first vlog on The Likely Lady.. beware, I'm a bit rusty after a while away from this kinda thing!

My first vlog features my week in Ibiza, between 14th-21st June 2014, alongside my bestie Emma!

A Note: Life As I Know It Now

6 July 2014

Hello lovely folks!

I'm back again with a personal post.. I've decided to make use of my blog a little more in that manner as it always ends up being cathartic and holding resonance with a few of you. So, here we go!

WIWT: Ibizan Sunsets & Cocktails at Café Del Mar

2 July 2014

I'm back properly from my holiday to Ibiza. Specifically, San Antonio. Yeah.. we went straight to the middle of the chaos. And I wouldn't change a thing. I'll do a follow-up post with what we got up to but right now, here are my WIWT outfits from each day of the holiday!

A Note: The Blogger Blues

1 July 2014

Hello all!

A little switch-up from the usual posting on The Likely Lady today. I haven't really planned this post out, but I just feel a lot of thoughts & words spilling out.. and that's usually the best time to write it all down (and try and make it sound coherent!)

It's now July, and we're more than mid-way through 2014. I'm about to graduate University, and I'm going through a lot of changes in my mindset and my environment. It's the time to find a job, maybe find a nice boy & hopefully do some travelling in between. I feel like a very different person to the person who started writing this blog in 2009, cooped up in my teenage bedroom with grandiose plans, endless notebooks and Moleskine diaries filled with rants and dreams. I also feel that blogging is an entirely different ball-game to back in 2009, and I think this might be a big part of why I'm feeling a little lacklustre for this hobby of mine.

Don't get me wrong, I love the things that have come to me as a result of my little space on the Internet. It's brought me career opportunities, contacts and new friends, as well as wonderful unique experiences that I would never have been provided without it. However, I have lost a lot of the same passion that I once had. When I publish a post, I often feel that it's become a task and a burden. I no longer - or very rarely - look at a piece I've written and feel proud and satisfied in it. I feel like my entire direction has disappeared, and I'm simply writing up posts that I am required to, as soon as I can face doing it.

This isn't the way it should be, really. And I think something needs to change. I have vague fantasies of regular WIWT posts and more personal posts, where my words are allowed to run free, but I just need to get the ball rolling. I look at my fellow bloggers (mostly friends) and feel a touch of sadness that I haven't got the same motivation as them to write up and edit fantastic posts. It does make me feel like a fraud sometimes.

I wish blogging could be like it once was for me, and I could just publish whatever I wanted at any time, but in order to use the blog in a professional capacity, it's not always possible. I often feel like a volcano, ready to erupt with things I want to write about. But, they're usually restricted to the odd frustrated tweet instead.

I hope those of you who've bothered to read this can understand where I'm coming from. I'm simply going to focus on getting a job and gaining new experiences, and hopefully the blogging will come back naturally in due course. Let me know if you'd like more personal posts from me, such as that from my anxiety and heartache struggle. I'd like to write them, but I'm worried this isn't what anyone wants to read nowadays, what with beauty reviews and lookbooks taking precedence..

All American Feasting at The Filling Station, Edinburgh

30 June 2014

10oz Sirloin Steak & Fries
During the past month, I've been invited to a couple of events held at the Filling Station in Edinburgh for their new campaign, celebrating #FSmoments. First off, we headed to a cocktail masterclass with award-winning cocktail mixologist Andy Pearson (founder of Intoxicology) at the Omni Centre branch. The evening was fab with lots of cocktail demonstrations and hands-on practice by us Scottish bloggers. My favourite cocktail of the night was definitely the 'Edinburgh Handbag' that Andy concocted for us, ha! I can barely remember what it contained, however.. whoops.

But, the second event was a real show-stopper, with a bustling full Royal Mile restaurant being treated to prosecco, cocktails and a three course dinner; all accompanied by live music, in true American style. Let's have a look at the evidence, shall we..?

Dean Jones Hairdressing, Edinburgh

15 June 2014

Here's me, looking like an awkward turtle because I'm taking photos of myself on my Nikon in a public place. But it was all in the name of a good hair day, thanks to Dean Jones Hairdressing on 3a Elm Row, Edinburgh. I was invited to try out his newly opened salon with a complimentary cut & blowdry service. And, it was seriously overdue.. be wary of my shockingly limp hair in the 'before' pictures which will surface below the break.. *shields eyes*

I Got A 2:1!

11 June 2014

Gratuitous cheesy thumbs-up shot!
Hey! Just a little break from scheduling to say... I GOT A 2:1! *clicks heels* After 4 years at Uni in Edinburgh, I now have a BA (Hons) Degree in Festival, Events & Marketing Management. On that note: EMPLOY ME, LOVELY MARKETING/PR PEOPLE! I'll hope to be staying on in Edinburgh and moving in with a fellow blogger who you might well know as Gillian from Elevatormusik (yeah. Clearly we love eachother that much... ha!)

This summer will hopefully be filled with full-time employment (!), picnics in the park and road trips with my friends, as well as probably lots of spontaneous adventures! But, for this week, I am getting ready to go to Ibiza with my long-time best friend Emma to celebrate me graduating Uni. It will be my first time on a girlie trip abroad, as well as my first time on the island, so I am extremely excited and definitely have about 30422 notes on Evernote ready to bust out when I arrive! Organisational geek.. yeah, the Event degree has come in handy for that! Stay tuned to my Instagram and Twitter for snippets of my trip :)

Again, thanks for reading guys! It's been the best year ever in terms of The Likely Lady. So many amazing events I've been very lucky to attend & meeting some of my best friends through blogging. It's all astounding, and I'm pleased I've gotten my dream 2:1 which I aimed for since day 1.

Love you all!

DegustaBox: The Foodie's Favourite

10 June 2014

Uhhhhh.. so, that happened! DegustaBox is the newish take on the monthly subscription box trend, but with FOOD. Yep. Think GlossyBox, but for foodies instead of beauty lovers. And, given that my room is already over-stuffed with beauty products, I can always use a little treat for the kitchen these days.. does that mean I'm getting old, guys? Oh well, I love it anyway..! ;)

Psst.. scroll down for a discount code!

Crabtree & Evelyn: Handy Tips, Handed Down!

8 June 2014

Crabtree & Evelyn Edinburgh Handy Tips Handed Down
Now, if you're anything like me - a twenty-something girl with a Space NK wishlist the length of her arm - you may be thinking, 'Crabtree & Evelyn', really..? Because, let's face it, my first thought when I received an invite from the brand to their event was "is this really a brand targeted at me?" However, Crabtree & Evelyn are in the midst of a brand rejuvenation.. having launched this new campaign entitled 'Handy Tips, Handed Down', they're on the hunt for beauty tips which us younger ladies have learned from our mums and grandmothers. An excellent plan, I think, given that most of us have a warm connection to the brand in some way or another when we think of the older women in our family. In fact, my last associated memory is of purchasing some lavender products for my grandmother in France! So! Let's take a look at their offerings..

How to Get Glowy Summer-Ready Skin

5 June 2014

How to get glowy skin for spring and summer
I'm a massive advocate of glowy skin! So, no surprise that I'm fully loving the SS14 glowy makeup look doing the rounds in the beauty world. But, after a dreich challenging winter that's likely drained every bit of healthy glow out of your skin, it's time to sort it out!

Scottish Ballet's Romeo & Juliet

3 June 2014

Scottish Ballet's Romeo and Juliet
Last month, I was treated to an evening at the Scottish Ballet's production of Romeo & Juliet on opening evening at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre. Now, having already been to their Sleeping Beauty tour (see my full post here, back in January 2012!) I knew that this was going to be no ordinary ballet. Scottish Ballet are famed for their modern take on well-known stories, and Romeo & Juliet was no different..

5 Ways to Update Your Home for Summer

5 Ways to Update Your Home for Summer
From Clockwise Top Left: Peonies | H&M Jacquard Weave Blanket, £24.99 | H&M Porcelain Vase, £9.99 | Tesco Chevron Print Duvet, £12 | The White Company Diffuser in 'Seychelles', £25 | Dunelm Mill White Dotty Voile Panel, from £8.99

It's the 1st of June! I'm sure that counts as properly summer now, right..? I dunno about you, but I'm suddenly a massive home interiors obsessive lately.. maybe I should blame my over-indulgence in Pinterest (see my ridiculously intense Home Comforts board here!), but woah. I really fancied writing a post on how to update your home for summer, as I'm getting fully excited to buy some new bits & bobs and switch up my routine around the place.

Evening Skincare Routine

29 May 2014

Evening Skincare Routine
Hey guys!

Following on from my earlier Morning Skincare Routine post (here), I thought I'd talk you through my evening skincare routine - from the products I use to take off the day's face, to the wee indulgent touches that get my body into sleepy mode.

Getting Feasty at Clerk's Bar, Edinburgh

27 May 2014

Clerk's Bar Edinburgh
A few weeks ago, I was invited by the lovely Toni to the official press launch of Clerk's Bar in Edinburgh. The invite promised "an evening of great beer and great banter!" and, other than the fact I am not a beer drinker, I do indeed like a bit of banter! I had actually visited before for some dinner before heading elsewhere, so I was already familiar with the bar - and its amazing BBQ food! Suffice to say, there were drinks & meaty goodness galore.. prepare to get hungry! Or, if you're a vegetarian, look away now!

TGI Fridays Glasgow: #BurgerBlindDate

23 May 2014

TGI Fridays Buchanan Street Glasgow
A couple of weeks ago, I was kindly invited by TGI Fridays to their Buchanan Street venue to sample their new burger menu under the heading of Burger Blind Date. Now, who am I to turn down offers of upcoming "romance of the incredibly meaty variety"?! With the promise of a wide selection of "sizzling suitors" to choose from, I was SOLD. Besides, me & my pals often refer to ourselves as #burgerlovinbabes ;) (blame Gillian for this amazing title).

Wear Eponymous SS14: My Model Moment

21 May 2014

Photograph by Laura McKinnon Photography
A few weeks ago, I set off on a journey to Glasgow, at The White Studios by Glasgow Green. I nervously walked up to the studio to begin my day as a model! You might have a wee laugh here, as I'm probably the most opposite looking to a model ever (damn you, petite legs & Kardashian booty), so it was extra special to actually get to do something like this. I've always been interested in pushing myself outside my comfort zone and hitting lots of bucket list goals in the process, so this was an opportunity I couldn't miss..

Edinburgh Science Festival 2014
Hey guys!

Here's my post on the Edinburgh Science Festival this year, which ran from the 5th-20th April and featured a milliiion different events all themed around science (yeah, science!).
