Three Things #3

26 January 2014

It's been a great week over here! After a pretty Dissertation focused first half of the week, the weekend featured a lot of food, drink & general merriment.. Oh, and a cheeky Jo Malone purchase..

So, here are my Three Things which made me crack a grin this week..

1. Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede Cologne

I had a tricky time deciding on a perfume to ask for for Christmas (after my love story with Miss Dior ended last year..) I'd stuck Jo Malone's Peony & Blush Suede Cologne on my list, rather half-heartedly; based on good reviews, rather than actually sniffing it myself (silly). So, this week, I plucked up the courage to enter a Jo Malone store for the first time and see which scent drew me in most.. It was a tie up between Blackberry & Bay and Peony & Blush Suede.. the latter won!

2. Seeing the girls again for an overdue catch-up!

Gillian, me & Lianne
It was so good to see most of the girls this week, some of whom I hadn't seen since Christmas or even Aberfeldy! A long time in our world.. even if we do have a massive facebook chat group where we constantly chat rubbish 24/7.. We had tapas at Cafe Andaluz, Edinburgh, followed by Supercube karaoke times! Oh, and a slight fail of an evening at Lola Lo, where I hadn't been since my 21st birthday.. was the sweatiest place I think I've ever been (and I've been stuck in a packed Duracell tent at Leeds Festival at 5am..)

3. Blasting out Whigfield/Fleetwood Mac/Foreigner/Cyndi Lauper et al at Supercube Edinburgh!

Karaoke was BRILLIANT! Kirsty's fabulous Morrissey impressions have gone down in history.. And all of our voices were breaking at all the '80s crooning we were doing. The highlights were: me singing Whigfield's 'Saturday Night' whilst all the girls did the infamous dance moves & all of us singing/shouting Loch Lomond and joining hands at the end of the night. Amazing. I love these ladies, did I mention....?

What did you get up to this week that made you smile? Let me know! I am definiiitely on a strict spending ban now..

xoxo
