Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream: The Review

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in Ivory

Hey guyyyys!

I'm back with a beauty product review. Makes a change, eh? Today I'm talking about my new favourite daily base - the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in Ivory. It's a much lighter choice for the summer months (when my face is practically melting most days..). Anyway, here we go!

The Claim

Bourjois claim that the 123 Perfect CC Cream does the following facial wizardry:
"Correct and perfect your complexion with Bourjois' 123 Perfect Colour Correcting cream. Its 3 colour correcting pigments give a fresh and luminous result with SPF 15 and 24hr hydration.
Apricot for anti-fatigue
Green for anti-redness
White for anti-dark spots
Its lightweight texture easily glides onto your skin for a smooth application.
Oil-free formula
Available in 4 shades"
As a newbie to the CC cream bandwagon (I previously didn't really see any need of adding this kind of product to my regime..), I didn't know what to expect, but these claims were pretty intriguing.

The Reality

On first impressions, the consistency is quite watery and lightweight. This product is certainly not for those who are scared of a sheer base - as you'd imagine - but I luckily am a big fan of lightweight coverage. It definitely lives up to the job of gliding on easily and is easy to buff in and work up to more of a light-medium coverage in the areas which require it. The colour-correcting aspect works well too, and I do find my red patches are smoothed over and given a much more polished seamless look after applying it. My skin also looks a little more luminous. However, I don't suffer with dark spots so I can't comment on how this might work. Sorry chaps!

I have used it as a kind of primer base under the L'Oreal True Match Foundation too and found it to be helpful in smoothing out the redness and prolonging my base wear. In fact, I wore this pairing on my graduation day and really liked the effect it had on my skin. However, on its own, the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream really needs a little help in the prolonging category. I wouldn't describe it as very long-lasting, and am currently pressing over the Bourjois Healthy Balance Compact Powder with a Real Techniques Powder Brush to keep it in place during my days at work. I also like to dot on some Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer under my eyes, as the CC Cream doesn't do much in that department. However, I really do like this little product and the subtle illuminating, smoothing and SPF properties are great for summer! It also helps to hydrate your skin and makes it feel really healthy.

Would I Repurchase it?

Definitely! It's great to smooth on in the morning before work and not faff about buffing in a heavier base. Basically, more time for breakfast foods, which is always a bonus of any beauty product, amiright? It just needs a powder to set and blotting or powder throughout the day to keep it looking as good as gold. One for the ladies who aren't shy of baring a little more face day-to-day.

The Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream is from £9.99 and is available at Boots, Superdrug, Feel Unique and other good drug-stores.

  1. Ooh this looks quite good actually! Shame about the staying power, but I tend to set my make up with a powder anyway. If it's ever on offer I'll be sure to pick it up, despite my bulging drawers full of make up... x
