So, I've compiled a post filled with my top 3 most wearable AW14 beauty looks, which can fit around every eventuality in life (I hope). Let's crack on..
1. Pillarbox Red Lips & Golden Eyes
Looks best: Dinner with the girls, date night & birthday parties
This look is my favourite go-to whatever the season, but it really holds its own in the winter months. The eyes can be given a super glittery golden wash of colour without looking too much like overkill - which can happen in the summer months. I swiped on a slick of L'Oreal Color Riche in Julianne's Pure Red (a new release from the Color Riche line for autumn/winter, and a top seller by the looks of the shelves in Boots!), and built up my eye colour with the new Color Riche gel-infused eyeshadow in Golden Nude. The look I'm going for in the pictures is more of a day-to-day subtle golden eye, but I recommend the Maybelline Color Tattoo in 25k Gold for a long-lasting intense golden eye for nights out. One of the reasons I love this looks is because I have green eyes which are really brought out by the pillarbox red lipstick and the complementing golden eyeshadow. Love ♥
2. Dark Berry Lips & Smokey Eyes
Looks best: Statement fashion look for day & sultry seductress for night
This is actually one of my favourite ever looks for when I want to feel like a powerful babein' babe. You could turn up the drama on the eyes with darker shades washed on with a dampened eye blending brush for evening, or stick to the subtly sparkly Café St Germain shade by Color Riche. The lipstick is my ol' faithful Rimmel Kate Moss in #107, which I pretty much adore in the winter months. It's the one lipstick I'm complimented on when I wear, and I really adore the boost it gives my usual girlie understated look. One for pairing with a perfectly applied base though guys! I like to mix NARS Sheer Glow in 'Fiji' and L'Oreal True Match in 'W1 Golden Ivory' right now, which was a random finding spurred on by trying to mix the right cross-seasonal shade for my skin-tone. It really lasts all day with Revlon PhotoReady Primer applied underneath too.
3. Nude Lips & Red Smokey Eyes
Looks best: Daily wear in the autumn monthsThis final look is one I've only really found myself interested in recently, what with so many bloggers around trying to master the notoriously tricky red or copper smokey eye. It's not something I would previously have even considered wearing, but it really works with green eyes, so why not? Because of my aversion to too much colour on my face at once, I toned this one down by swiping on the L'Oreal Color Riche lipstick in 'Julianne's Nude'; another new purchase alongside the red version. The red eye was a tough one to do for this post, as I literally spent ages trying to find the right base colour, and the only one I found in Superdrug was within the Rimmel HD Eye Palette in 'Brixton Brown'. If anyone knows of any good copper/red eyeshadows I could try out, let me know! I'm guessing MAC would be worth a look? PS - I am well aware my mascara looks non-existent in these photos, so annoying!
