Christmas Gift Guide: Festive Pampering

15 November 2015

Am I allowed to use the word 'Christmas' yet, or shall I whisper it in hushed tones...? Oh well! I thought I'd start off early, seeing as "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..." around ol' Edinburgh town. Time to crack out the wish list, eye up M&S' festive food aisle and think about my decorating theme for this year. The easiest way I've found to get in the festive mood a little early - without looking a bit cray cray - is by slipping into fluffy pyjamas, burning a festive candle and giving my body a good wee pamper. So, on that note, here's a little Christmas gift guide I've created with festive pampering in mind. Perfect for treating your girl friends or mum - or yourself! - to this winter...

♥ Body pampering

Arran Aromatics kindly sent me across a selection of their Christmas gift sets to try out, and I've been loving the Citrus Shores scent in this cute Fill Your Boots stocking* set. Perfect for perking up on a dull winter morning. I even spotted the Citrus Shores hand wash in the bathrooms of a Michelin starred restaurant on the same day I got it sent to me - a definite luxury scent! I'll be popping in the shower to use this set straight after I write this post actually... They also sent me over the Nut Cracker Travel Bag* (in 'After the Rain' scent) which my mum will love! Psst - how cute is this Advent Calendar they've created too?!

Another wee combination I like to use to feel perfectly pampered is the Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Honey Bath (with a dinky honey dipper stick to run the product under the tap into your bath - cute!) and the Dove Purely Pampering Shea Butter & Warm Vanilla Body Oil afterwards. Laura Mercier have even brought out a special Christmas set filled with all of my Ambre Vanille favourites! Squee! On my wishlist for sure.

And finally, seeing as Jo Malone are one of my favourite brands, I thought I'd slip in the Jo Malone Christmas Cracker as it's cuuuuuute.

If all else fails, head to Lush - their range is amaaaazing (!!) this year. On my wishlist: the Comforter Shower Cream, Magic Wand Bubble Bar, Cinders Bath Bomb and Butterbear Bath Bomb.

♥ Beauty gifts

One thing I like to stick into little stockings or sets for friends is a pretty glittery nail polish. If Christmas ain't a time to wear all the glitter ever, when is?! Barry M 'Rose Quartz' Glitter polish is my new favourite shade. I wore it at my friend Lynne's wedding recently, and am wearing it more often now the festive season is looming. Another option I like is a classic metallic gold nail paint like the Models Own in 'Gold Rush'.

Another option is one of the classic Urban Decay Naked palettes. I personally own the more rosy-toned Naked3 palette, but there are palettes to suit every taste. One for the make-up fan looking to improve their eyeshadow skillzzz. The brush inside isn't that bad actually, but I like to use a MAC 217 anyway.

A bit expensive but perfect for anyone who is a massive Hourglass fan like me: the limited edition Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette, comprising of: new Iridescent Strobe Light (I use this as a highlighter); Dim Light (a good all-over powder); Diffused Light (perfect to cover redness or under-eyes); Luminous Flush (my favourite glowy coral pop blush); Mood Exposure (a darker soft plum blush); and Luminous Bronze Light (a glowy bronzer) is beautiful! I've never stared a beauty product with such excitement in my entire life - I love this palette!!! Best thing I've ever bought.

♥ Home gifts

Candles are the first thing I think of when it comes to creating the perfect environment for a spot of pampering in the winter evenings. I like the look of this Nutmeg Embers candle, as well as the Yankee Candle Christmas Cookie candle. For a more luxurious option, there's always the Diptyque Seasonale Candle Set.

Christmas jammies always go down well and Next is me and my mum's favourite place to go for these. Let's hope for unwrapping one of these sets on Christmas Eve!

Treating yourself to some new bedding for the festive season? ASDA and Primark are my go-tos for this. I've picked up these Primark sheets already, but have spotted some adorable ASDA sheets too. Decisions, decisions...

What do you love to use to pamper over the festive season?

xoxo
