What's in my Bag: The Kate Spade Hayden

22 April 2016

The excuse to write a blog post about my new baby (hello Kate Spade Small Hayden) was overwhelming, so I thought I'd take it back old school and do a 'What's in my Bag' post with a few babein' photos of the wee beauty. I picked the smaller version of the Hayden as I don't tend to use a big bag most days, saving my large black H&M tote for in-flight hand luggage when I need to and my & Other Stories throw-over black shoulder bag for nights out. It was pretty hard debating on a colour to choose, as Kate Spade produce their bags in all bright colours of the rainbow... but I thought, being sensible, I'd make my first designer bag purchase a failsafe classic black. Who knows? Maybe I'll end up buying the blush version next... (don't let me do this, please!!!)

Read on to find out what I stash away in my bag most days.

Chewing gum - because you can't be caught without a fresh breath solution... especially if I'm heading out after work or I have a date on the cards.

Purse - my purse is looking a bit battered and bruised but I still love it. A New Look sale bargain, I still get compliments on it a year on. Within this, I obviously keep all my cards and trusty Boots Advantage Card and Space NK loyalty card... ahem!

Pen - Boring one, this... I love the Pilot V Ball Pen in 0.5 if you're interested!

iPhone 6 and earphones - I wouldn't be a millennial if I didn't have my phone close to hand at all times - mine is the gold iPhone 6, which I love. For the last six or so months, I've had this beaut of a Skinny Dip glitter phone case on it. It gets many a compliment from random strangers (usually waiters!?) and I spend my days swirling the glitter around like a sparkle loving magpie. I might pop a post up soon with my favourite phone apps, as I love a good app, so I do...

Hand cream - I'm a hand cream floozy (from Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille to Vaseline; Elizabeth Arden to Elemis...) but I've popped Elemis Jasmine & Rose Hand and Nail Cream in my bag right now. Does what it says on the tin!

Keys - yada yada yada... You know the drill here!

Lip products - I always end up, like most girls, with a variety of different lipsticks, lip balms and lip glosses rattling around at the bottom of my bag. At the moment, I've got the Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss in 'Rebel' and the MAC Matte Lipstick in 'Russian Red' in there, along with a Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in 'Red'.

Powder - I can't be without one or I turn into a shiny-faced loon, so this Rimmel Stay Matte powder was more of an impromptu purchase at the train station the other day... Usually I like the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder compact.

Nail file - available at all good Boots outlets, guyyyyys...

Painkillers - ain't nobody wanting a headache ruining their day when they're out and about!

Contact lenses case - not pictured, but I usually have my black and white polka dot contact lenses case (a gift from Gillian) stashed away inside my bag for switching from my glasses if I'm going out after work, which takes me neatly on to...

Glasses - I wear Cheap Monday 'Eye of the Beholder' black rim frames via Specsavers when I'm tap-tap-tapping away at my keyboard all day. They aren't currently available online but may still be available in-store. I love them as they're simple, impactful and they suit everything I wear.

iPad - I don't always take my iPad out with me but on this occasion it had wound its way into my bag. Perfect for browsing Pinterest endlessly whilst sipping a coffee... bliss!

Snacks - snacks are always a requirement, right? I've been trying out some other Nakd fruit and nut snack flavours recently, so the Strawberry and Cream nibbles are tucked away in my bag right now! I really love the Nakd Cocoa Orange Bites too.

What can you not bear to go without in your bag?
